One of the Largest Private Homes in the Caribbean – See Photos – YARDHYPE

Built over 40 years ago, Trident Castle is one of the few castles located in Jamaica and is one of the Caribbean’s largest castles, it’s also one of the largest private homes in the Caribbean.

Located in Port Antonio, Portland, Trident stands out as one of the most unique pieces of architecture in the country. The 40,000-square-foot castle offers a stunning view out into the sea as it occupies Pegg Point, at the mouth of Turtle Crawle Harbour. 

The extensive structure stands on 7 acres of a peninsula in the popular tourist spot and has been a beloved destination spot for multiple celebrities. The likes of American singer Beyonce and movie stars Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise have stayed at the castle while vacationing on the island.

Trident Castle has also been used by artistes such as Reggae singer Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley as a picturesque location for music videos, with Marley using it as the backdrop for his single Living It Up. Designed by architect Earl Levy, the construction of the castle began in 1979 and features both lavish interiors and exteriors.

Originally built for German Baroness Elizabeth Siglindy Stephan von Thyssen, Trident is comprised of eight bedrooms, a ballroom, a banquet hall, two living rooms, terraces, a helicopter pad, a swimming pool, and a private chapel.
