Marion Hall hell-bent on Spreading the Gospel in Dancehall

January 28th, 2021

After declaring that she will not return to dancehall, Minister Marion Hall left a number of people feeling confused after she revealed that she intended to record a dancehall album.

But in a recent interview her manager, Delroy Escoffery, tried to clear the misconceptions, when he said Marion’s upcoming project will be a ‘dancehall gospel’ album.

Her manager said he looked at the global space and realized that there were different types of Gospel, the content can reach different people, he believes you can get a dancehall rhythm or a soca rhythm and align it with the Gospel of Jesus and use it to preach.

He gave an example when he spoke about Ninja man, who started a song with the words “my friends seek the Lord‘ and then he didn’t continue on the same track. His content was not full Gospel. Escoffery wants people to focus on the DNA of the music which is the Gospel message.

Even though there is no official word on when the album will be released, Marion is writing the songs. He also said she had inspirational songs before and she is putting her new album together.
