Is Ice Spice teasing a collab with Taylor Swift?

July 2nd, 2024

Will Taylor Swift feature on Ice Spice‘s upcoming debut album? Find out what the rapper has to say about the topic below.

At the end of the month (July 26), New York rapper Ice Spice will release her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Y2K’. Little is known about the album so far, and the rapper has yet to share its tracklist. However, Spice did reveal in January that a “crazy” collaboration had been locked in for the record.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the 2024 BET Awards, Ice Spice was asked about the album’s featured guests. The rapper denied to reveal who will appear on the album, but confirmed that it will feature “a couple” of collaborations.

ET went on to mention Taylor Swift specifically, asking if Spice will “return the favour” after Swift had invited the New York rapper to hop on a remix of ‘Karma’. “I think she did me the favour,” Spice replied, suggesting that Swift helped expose the rapper to a larger audience.

Ice Spice coyly added about a potential Taylor Swift collab on ‘Y2K’: “I don’t know, we’ll see, we’ll see.”

Ice Spice has also announced European and North American tour dates in support of ‘Y2K’. In July, the rapper will trek across Europe for a run of festival performances, including Roskilde, Open’er, Wireless and more.

Later in July, she returns to North America, where she’ll begin a slew of headlining shows, with support from Cash Cobain through late August. Fans can buy and sell tickets for Ice Spice at global marketplace viagogo.

‘Y2K’ will follow the Bronx rapper’s January 2023 EP, ‘Like..?’, which featured viral hits including ‘Munch (Feelin’ U)’ and ‘In Ha Mood’. NME awarded that release four stars, with Thomas Smith praising Ice Spice’s sardonic delivery and level-headed confidence.

“The road is still long for Ice Spice, and weathering the post-viral breakout period feels crucial: longevity feels attainable, but casual listeners and even some fans remain fickle,” Smith wrote. “On ‘Like…?’, she appears unbothered about chasing clout or fans – she knows they’ll come around eventually anyway.”
