Six fighters take home extra $50,000 each

October 2nd, 2022

The UFC handed out six post-fight bonuses after Saturday’s card, and all six winners fought on the preliminary card.

After UFC Fight Night 211, six fighters picked up an extra $50,000 for their performances in Las Vegas. Check out the winners below.

The 42-year-old Guido Cannetti (10-6 MMA, 4-5 UFC) was a sizable underdog to 3-1 favorite Randy Costa (6-4 MMA, 2-4 UFC), but won for the second straight time in 2022 with a reasonably shocking finish of Costa – who lost for the third straight time by stoppage.

Chelsea Chandler (5-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) knew there was danger going to the canvas against Julija Stoliarenko (10-7-1 MMA, 1-5 UFC), whose resume is littered with armbar wins. But she did it anyway and mounted her to get a first-round ground-and-pound finish.

Performance of the Night: Brendan Allen

Brendan Allen (20-5 MMA, 8-2 UFC) won for the third straight time and fifth time in six fights when he took out Krzysztof Jotko (24-6 MMA, 11-6 UFC) with a first-round rear-naked choke. It was the first time Jotko had been submitted in more than eight years.

Joaquim Silva (12-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) picked up his first win in nearly four years when he finished Jesse Ronson (21-12 MMA, 0-5 UFC) with a second-round TKO. Silva landed a jumping knee and put Ronson away with ground-and-pound to get the job done.

Fight of the Night: John Castaneda vs. Daniel Santos

Daniel Santos def. John Castaneda via TKO (knee, punches) – Round 2, 4:28

Daniel Santos (10-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and John Castaneda (19-6 MMA, 2-2 UFC) traded kicks and punches and knees back and forth for nearly 10 minutes, and it looked as if Castaneda was winning most of the exchanges. Somehow, though, Santos wouldn’t go away, and late in the second round he landed a knee, then put Castaneda away with a couple more punches for what amounted to a comeback win.
