January 22nd, 2021

President Donald Trump granted clemency to rappers Kodak Black and Lil Wayne, the White House made the announcement on Wednesday morning. A pardon was granted to Lil Wayne and a commutation was granted to Kodak Black as a raft of pardons and commutations were granted just before he left office.

Carter, the rapper who is also known as Lil Wayne, was convicted recently when he plead guilty to possession of ammunition and a firearm. Mr. Carter was described as kind and trustworthy and the pardon was supported.

It is believed that Lil Wayne supported Mr. Trump in the 2020 election and he was seen as someone who was compensated by the President.

However, Carter is a friend of many, he is a multi-platinum recording artiste, label founder.

Kodak Black had served almost half of his sentence, and he had donated to worthy causes even while he served in prison.

He was serving 3 years, his given name is Bill Kapri, In August 2019 he plead guilty after he knowingly made false written statements when he tried to acquire firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer.

Why did Trump helped these rappers? well these rappers are known to be trump supporters and by all means Donald trump is expected to run for election in the next 4 hears hence having these influential Black celebrities on his side would make a huge difference given the fact that he was low on Black supporters in the last presidential election.
