The manager of the now-deceased dancehall artiste Robert Lee Malcom, more popularly known as Gully Bop, has updated fans and those concerned about the funeral arrangements set for the deejay. This follows the numerous speculations surrounding the suspected delay of the funeral proceedings for the deejay’s body.

In a video post to social media featuring a still image of the late entertainer, his manager, Jackie, captions the post with the update, stating the following.

“FUNERAL FOR ROBERT LEE MALCOLM AKA GULLY BOP. SUNRISE 30 May 1964 SUNSET 31 OCTOBER 2023. GULLY BOP’S FUNERAL WILL BE HELD SUNDAY 14 JANUARY 2024, 11.00 a.m. AT THE RANNY WILLIAMS ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE,36 HOPE ROAD, KINGSTON, PROCEEDING TO THE FAMILY PLOT IN LAWRENCE TAVERN, KING WESTON.”

The statement continues, “GULLY BOP’S MANAGEMENT WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TRIBUTES AND KIND WORDS OF COMFORT, HE WILL BE MISSED. THANK YOU. Manager, Jackie.”

The Jamaican dancehall entertainer achieved fame through social media and gained a large following as a result. It was via a video of Bop freestyling that he gained popularity in 2014. Since then, he has cultivated a dedicated fan base and has released several singles that have gained a great deal of attention as well as success.

However, late last year, news broke that the entertainer passed away at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) following his long battle with health complications. Months before his demise, the entertainer took to social media pleading for help and assistance regarding his illness.
